Małgorzata Potocka has received many awards for her work, among others the Gold Cross of Merit for promoting Polish culture around the world. Her dancers have appeared on the stages of the most famous Parisian cabarets, among them, ‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘Lido’. Malgorzata Potocka was a dancer with a unique femininity combined with an exacting personality and form of expression. She traveled the world with her group and experienced many unique and fascinating adventures; one of which proved to be very dramatic. In 1985, during her performance on the ship, ‘Achille Lauro’, was hijacked by Palestinian terrorists. It was a terrible and tragic event that had an effect on her life. She decided that if she survived, she would create in her home country, the first post-war stage revue. In 1994, on the initiative of Margaret Potocka the Tango Club was established, which quickly became the most prestigious venue Warsaw. The Tango Club closed its doors in November 1999. In 2002. Małgorzata Potocka opened the Sabat Theatre, the first and only vaudeville theater of its kind in Poland. Here she has created a number of great performances of the highest artistic quality, including one for the accession of Poland to the European Union performed in Paris at the headquarters of UNESCO and played in Poland under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. ‘Hollywood on Foksal’, ‘Revue Forever’ and many others followed. On the occasion of Chopin Year the show, ‘Rendez vous avec Chopin’ was prepared - a ballet to the piano pieces of Frederic Chopin. In 2013, an additional operetta was created at the Theatre Sabat with a charming and spectacular performance, ‘Because this is Love’.
Today, in the heart of Warsaw, the Sabat Theatre receives distinguished guests both from home and abroad, representatives of embassies and members of foreign delegations, business people, and cultural attaches. The theater is a veritable showcase of the city. The unique atmosphere of its Secessionist interior reminds guests of the paintings by Toulouse - Lautrec, and bohemian Parisian cabarets. The Sabat Theater can also be an exceptional venue for a corporate gala evening or a more relaxed and convivial business meeting.
Małgorzata Potocka is the heart of the Theater, ensuring an inimitable relationship with her audience. The Sabat Theatre was created by her from her passion and love for dance.
The press has called her – "the Queen of Polish Revue".
